What to Know About Bracken County's AirEvac Coverage

Bracken County Fiscal Court is proud to be one of only four counties in Kentucky that fully funds emergency air medical transport coverage for its citizens. Through an annual county investment of approximately $32,000, all Bracken County residents receive base-tier air ambulance coverage at no out-of-pocket cost. Here's what to know about the coverage:

County-Provided Base Coverage (Free to All Residents)

  • Who is Covered: Every resident with a primary address in Bracken County.

  • Service Area: Emergencies occurring within Bracken County or Mason County.

  • What It Covers: If EMS determines that air transport is medically necessary (e.g., severe vehicle crash, heart attack, or critical trauma), an Air Evac LifeTeam will transport you to the nearest trauma center with no out-of-pocket expenses.

Optional Upgrade Plans (Available at Resident Expense)

For residents who travel or want extended protection, the AirMedCare Network (AMCN) offers optional tiers. Any upgrade purchased automatically covers every person living in your household.

AMCN Emergent Coverage U.S. Domestic Travelers Covers emergency flights to the nearest trauma center anywhere within the lower 48 states. (Note: This transports you to the nearest facility, not back home).
AMCN Fly-U-Home Long-Distance U.S. Travelers Once you are medically stable, this plan transports you from anywhere in the U.S. directly to a hospital of your choice near home. Also covers transport of mortal remains.
AMCN Fly-U-Home International Cruisers & International Travelers If you become ill or injured outside the U.S., this plan brings you and a traveling companion home once stabilized via medical jet, helicopter, or commercial flight with medical escorts. Also covers transport of mortal remains.
